The young girl decides to create her own collection of poems as a gift to her mother. She places her poems side-by-side with her mom's and presents it to her. The poems are written in the book with wonderful illustrations.
This can be used to show students how poetry can present a narrative. Students can practice writing their own poem about something that happened in their life.

I really liked this book's use of poetry. They used two different types for the mother and daughter's part of the book. It also highlights many popular locations of the Earth with a matching illustration. I would use this book for third graders and above. ( )

A young girl visits her grandmothers and discovers poems written by her mother as a child. The poetry and illustrations creatively tell the stories of her childhood and moving from the United States to overseas. ( )
