Book 1 of the Wizard Twins

She was to be the filling in a Wizard Sandwich. For a millennia, the Covenani Sorceresses of planet Sentmar have been separated from the Cauldaran Wizards, their natural mates. Deceit and blood have forced a reunion; destiny and passion have forced a bond.

Brianna, youngest of the Princesses of Covenani, will be a consort to two handsome, virile Wizards. Will the union be forged in desire and love, or will she deny the union, as well as the two men who are bound to her, hearts and souls?

I disliked this so much, I mostly finished it just to see if it got better. Reader, it did not. Brianna was terrified through so much of the book, and it read as though she was terrified of sex in general, not just about the "wizard sandwich" (let's just pretend that phrase isn't hysterically silly for a sec) thing. For me, that gave the whole story a squicky consent slippery slope feel. I also found it frustrating that the women never talked about sex, when it was so clear that Brianna was scared by it. Like, we're told over and over that these women love each other and are a family who want to protect one another, but none of them are willing to talk about sex at all with their sister who's scared out of her mind? Maybe let her know that losing your virginity isn't going to TEAR YOU IN HALF AND KILL YOU? And if you don't want to have that conversation then maybe don't force her to marry a pair of wizard twins or whatever? OR third option: the narrative could stop pretending they're a caring family who love each other and just admit that the plot makes no sense unless they secretly hate Brianna and want her to be miserable.

Honestly, everything about this plot was frustrating (even a sassy dragon couldn't save it). 0/10 do not recommend. ( )

This is the first book in the Wizard Twins series. One thing that Ms. Leigh does well is world building. She never lets the world building dominate the story. She gives you enough information to help you understand the environment that the characters are living in and the rules that make the reality operate for those characters. She also builds your curiosity but other characters and their stories as she tells the each individual story. So here in the first book is the story of Brianna Sellane and the Wizard Twins Lasan and Drago Veraga. Brianna is a youngest daughter of the Queen of the Covenani. All her life she has heard the stories of pain and humiliation for those of her race at the hands of the Wizard Twins. When she is told she is to be a Consort of the Kings of Cauldaran she fight the Joining with her every breath. Her fear almost gets her raped and killed. For deceit and betrayal run rampant in both courts. The betrayers must be found and destroyed and the balance of power must be restore. The Sorceresses of the Covenani must reunite with the Wizard Twins of Cauldaran to save their world from destruction by the forces of evil. The Seculars, humans, has grown of the thousand years the the groups have warred and hated each other.

I love that Lasan and Drago balance each other out. Drago is mostly dominant and a little over powering. Lasan appears to be more patient and easy going. As always outward appearances are not always as the seem. So it is with these two. These two are definitely rulers of their kingdom and warriors ready to defend those they love and that are under their care. They don' hesitate to kill those that betray Brianna. Brianna is more than a little spoiled. She is also eaten up with fear. She is stubborn to a fault and has a temper to rival most. When she finally stops resisting the brothers she finds that all her fears were unfounded and that there is ecstasy and happiness in the arms of the Wizard Twins.

This is a really quick read and there is quite a bit of information packed into the story. Lora Leigh is also one of the best author for writing wickedly hot sex scenes. These three when they finally join burn up the pages. There is also quite a bit of sexual tension that builds up in the first part of the story which is not a bad thing. I look forward to future books in this series. ( )

I really could not get into this book at all. Maybe just because I don't really read romances or paranormal books, but I thought the whole story was silly and the writing awful. ( )

I enjoyed this book despite the fact that I wanted to slap the 'heroine' silly through 9/10 of the book. I understand that her nanny filled her head with terror of the mages...but once she was grown, could she not have thoughts of her own?

Did that irritate me? Yes. Will it stop me from getting the other two books in this series? No. I just enjoy Ms. Leigh's writing too much...even through childish heroines.

Brianna is the youngest princess of Covenani. And she has no intention of being "the filling in a Wizard sandwich". But the Veraga wizard twins weren't about to let their goddess-given mate ignore their bond.

If explicit sex and menage relationships offend you, please don't get this book. As for me...another one for my keeper shelf! ( )
