A fine history of the 29th Infantry Division's operations in the European theatre during World War Two. This book was given to me as a gift by the son of Lt. Col. Meeks, commanding officer of Third battalion, 116th Infantry on D-Day. Full of maps and photgraphs, the book is a goldmine of information from Division level on down to individual stories. Recommended for anyone interested in how a WW2 Division got the job done in it's part in defeating the German army. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
"Three months after America's entry into World War I the 29th Division was organized at Sea Girt, New Jersey, from National Guard units of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia. Under command of Maj. Gen. Charles G. Morton, the Division was concentrated at Camp McClellan, near Anniston, Alabama, in August 1917, where it trained for ten months before embarking for France."
