Detective Robert Brixton pairs with lawyer Mackenzie Smith when Laura Bennett, intern for politician Hal Gannon goes missing and ultimately ends up dead. Hal is a "family man" with a penchant for the ladies and Brixton is determined to find justice for Laura's death. Part of the Capital Crimes Series, it holds its own in these very readable murder mysteries that weave through the intricacies that are our Nation's Capital. Private Investigator, Robert Brixton, a former cop who has also worked for the FBI, joins forces with Mckensie Smith, a former top criminal lawyer and professor at the George Washington University School of Law, and Superintendent of Detectives Ezekiel "Zeke" Borgeldt of the Metropolitan Police Department to track down the creature who savagely murdered the young intern, Laura Bennett, the daughter of Lucas Bennett and Grace Bennett close friends of Mckensie Smith. Brixton quickly decides the culprit is none other than member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida's Fourteenth Congressional District, Tampa, Florida--the home of the Bennetts and who is also their friend who has known the beautiful young women since she was a child. Is this well-known and well-liked member of Congress, one Harold "Hal" Gannon, a murderer, or has Brixton jumped to the wrong conclusion right out of the gate--a fault he has been known to exhibit before? Or, is Brixton right--he's been known to be that too. Getting to the conclusion is a delicious and interesting feast of a murder mystery. And this is something writer Margaret Truman has exhibited throughout her great and diverse writing career. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

"Laura is a young intern in Washington, D.C., working for handsome and likable Congressman Hal Gannon. Laura falls for the charming Gannon, but when she catches a stewardess at Gannon's apartment, she vows to destroy him. Private investigator Robert Brixton is a former cop who has also worked for the FBI. When Laura goes missing, Brixton is hired by Laura's family to gain insight into the case that the police might have missed. Brixton tracks down rumors about Gannon--a staunchly moral "family advocate" according to his political position, but a womanizer according to gossip--but the congressman vehemently denies having anything untoward to do with Laura. Then Laura is found dead in the congressional cemetery, and many more questions are raised. Donald Bain thrills again with Margaret Truman's Internship in Murder, the riveting next installment in the Margaret Truman's beloved Capital Crimes series"-- Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
