A spur of the moment wager and a matchmaking grandmother are just two of the reasons that I could not stop reading The CEO Buys In. Nathan and Chloe live different lives but long for the same things. Nathan is filthy rich, handsome and unhappy with the direction his life has taken. He longs to find that one person who wants him not for what he is worth, but for the person he is. Chloe has a lot of responsibility. The sole bread winner in her family she is determined to look after her aging grandmother and not end up like her father, used and hung out to dry by a big cooperation. So she works temp jobs. Against her better judgement she is placed at a big cooperation. Misunderstandings, preconceived notions, stubbornness and pride are traits of Nathan and Chloe's personalities. So it was amusing and entertaining to see how their love story played out. Nancy Herkness vision hit the ball right out of the park . I ended this read with a smile on my face, joy in my heart and looking forward to what comes next in book two of the Wager of Hearts series. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. ( ) Ahh, this has got to be one of my absolute favorite series that I have read this year. Nathan, CEO gave off so much sex appeal in The CEO Buys In! You couldn't help but follow along and dream that you WISH you could be in Chloe's shoes. I enjoyed the additional backstories as well and simple adored Chloe's grandmother. She is a hoot! I don't think someone can start this book and not put it down with an immediate desire/need to get your hands on the next book. I ask you, would you dare even think about a relationship with a billionaire? Would he think you after his money? And would he think you so beneath him, he’d only toy with you, have his fun, then drop you? Read Nancy Herkness’s newest series, book 1 to find out how Chloe Russell, an office temp, deals with it. Drunk and sick at heart, Nathan Trainor makes an asinine wager with two other disillusioned billionaires, Gavin Miller, author, and Luke Archer, famous football player. Each would focus on finding a woman who would love them, not because of their money and status, rather for whom they are. Time limit? One year to find their lady love or forfeit something very precious to each of them. Envelopes with their forfeit choice were sealed and in good keeping in the safe of the Bellwether Club. Chloe found the air around her new boss and CEO of Trainor Enterprises, Nathan Trainor, rarified. He lived in a world at his command simply because of the power and money he held. Her life was simple. To make enough money to keep her and granny comfortable. But Chloe was exactly what Nathan needed (not that he knew it). He saw she had a keen mind, solid judgement, grounded with sound morals and honorable heart. Nathan knew she didn’t belong is his world, but he enjoyed her company so much, he contrived to have her join him in outings. I enjoyed the coming together of two strata of society. Nathan remembered living more simply; perhaps this is one reason he was drawn to Chloe. Chloe is conflicted about the money Nathan offers her, to work for him at his home after being very ill. She needs the money, but she’s uncomfortable with the situation. Nathan is conflicted because he sees Chloe seems to be swayed by money. Yet, she confuses him because she shows her displeasure when he flaunts his wealth. Attraction there was no doubt. Was it right to let it take its course? The plot intrigued, giving me the opportunity to step into the working world and experience the jungle a young woman can face in her career. Seriously, who wouldn’t love to meet a CEO like Nathan who apparently has smarts, wit and a heart? Ms. Herkness writes happily ever after with warmth and deep feeling. Her stories deal with believable situations, quite exciting and always with lots of heartfelt moments. Her superb internal dialogue and inner-conflict pull you into the crux of the story. This particular story has its humorous side. It will also have you on edge not knowing if Chloe and Nathan will let opportunity for happiness pass them by, restrained by what is expected of them. Two wealthy bachelors need also find their true love before a year. What difficulty will they face? The series continues with The All-Star Anties Up, to be released end of May, 2016. An excellent read that was completely entertaining! Sizzling hot chemistry between the characters, excellent writing, and a fresh spin on a familiar trope make this a book you don't want to miss. Nathan Trainor has had enough. He's tired of meeting women only to find out all they are really interested in is his bank balance. While drowning his sorrows at the club, he enters into a bet with his 2 friends that should prove interesting and quite possibly, impossible! Chloe Russell is shocked when she is sent to work in the executive offices at her tempt job. While confident in her abilities, she has no interest in working directly with a high powered CEO. When Nathan becomes quite attached to her after she finds him fevered and delirious in his office, she finds herself unable to say no to him. She's convinced though that this must be a short term arrangement but Nathan has other ideas!! This is one I definitely recommend. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
