Politics. Nonfiction. HTML:#1 New York Times bestselling author and radio host Mark R. Levin delivers a "bracing meditation" (National Review) on the ways our government has failed the next generation.
In modern America, the civil society is being steadily devoured by a ubiquitous federal government. But as the government grows into an increasingly authoritarian and centralized federal Leviathan, many parents continue to tolerate, if not enthusiastically champion, grievous public policies that threaten their children and successive generations with a grim future at the hands of a brazenly expanding and imploding entitlement state poised to burden them with massive debt, mediocre education, waves of immigration, and a deteriorating national defense.

Yet tyranny is not inevitable. In Federalist 51, James Madison explained with cautionary insight the essential balance between the civil society and governmental restraint: "In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

This essential new book is, against all odds, a likeminded appeal to reason and audacityâ??one intended for all Americans but particularly the rising generation. Younger people must find the personal strength and will to break through the cycle of statist manipulation, unrelenting emotional overtures, and the pressure of groupthink, which are humbling, dispiriting, and absorbing them; to stand up against the heavy hand of centralized government, which if left unabated will assuredly condemn them to economic and societal calamity.

Levin calls for a new civil rights movement, one that will foster liberty and prosperity and cease the exploitation of young people by statist masterminds. He challenges the rising generation of younger Americans to awaken to the cause of their own salvation, asking: will you acquiesce to a government that overwhelmingly acts without constitutional foundationâ??or will you stand in your own defense so that yours and future generations can live in fr

Another thoughtful book from the modern-day Paul Revere imploring the younger generation to awaken to the federal plunder and deceit that is stealing their liberty and their future. The book presents well researched and clearly articulated positions on several key categories of federal over-reach, power grabs, and plunder of the nations riches. In addition to this book, The Liberty Amendments and Ameritopia are MUST reads for any liberty and freedom minded American. ( )

Scathing and direct, this book makes a strong and factual case for how this generation's Washington and their uncontrolled spending are putting the next 2 or 3 generations in this nation at great financial peril. Not for the weak hearted, Levin almost pleads to current Americans to read, understand, and follow this book to change the way we are literally spending ourselves to death. The most disturbing aspect of this book is the case he makes for how this country will be spending more on social programs ALONE than the GDP of America within 20 years. Think Black Friday hysteria is bad? Wait until food, shelter, and clothing are in short supply someday unless deemed worthy by the almighty Federals. This one really makes you think. ( )

In this publication, Levin address the younger generations and youth directly. It seems as though Mark Levin is pleading to people around age thirty five and below that the goodness and sanctity of America’s future is exponentially decaying. Slowly, gradually, and inevitably government programs are dying. Education, Health Care, and Social Security are three of the main issues that Levin touches upon in this novel.
Today’s American education system is full of corruption. Tenure is one of the biggest mistakes ever, and true education is not being enforced and taught. Levin claims that upholding social safety is favored over teaching students education properly. The lack of teaching, Levin claims, is that teachers are given tenure. Frankly, tenure is unjust and should be removed from schools nationwide. This issue should be questioned and debated more often. Coming from a student, myself, it is very noticeable a teacher does not work to his/her full potential after being awarded tenure. Also, after a teacher retires, the teacher receives a pension every year. The other massive problem that Levin identifies with education, There seems to be no limit to the corruption current US schools can have today.
Today’s Obamacare health care system is unjust. That is an opinion Levin feels strongly about. There is no reason why the system should be in place. Countless examples of European countries are in turmoil because of universal health care. Not to mention, there is less of a motivation for doctors with this act. As the government is taking over all health systems, Urgent Cares are appearing all over America. These care centers are equipped with nurses mostly. Not Doctors. Levin is right in saying that today’s Affordable Care Act is unjust. It takes away poor people’s motivation to work and have money for themselves. With enough government handouts, Americans in poverty will feel no need to work. And there is no money in the government. This is a issue Levin brings up in his book, also it is most likely brought up once a week on his talk show.
Social Security. By the time my generation will be eligible for it, Social Security will only be something written in textbooks. Money is running out. Through this book, Levin is trying to warn the youth that money they will deserve once they have retired is beginning to disappear. A main message of this book is to tell young Americans, your lives will be harder than those of your parents. Luxuries are becoming more and more obsolete. The time to act is now. However, the youth cannot control their parents’ Congress, White House, or Supreme Court.
Levin addresses issues that are unheard of in typical liberal media today. For once, a political talk show host is not talking about the dangers of illegitimate global warming(or climate change, its other name), and for once a host is talking about pressing issues for the American youth. This book is a must read for those around thirty years old and younger. ( )

The next generation will be worse off than the previous generation due to central government policies. That fact alone should cause Plunder & Deceit to be required reading for all Americans. Deep thinking, hard-hitting book, this is another brilliant read from the genius mind of "The Great One", Mark Levin. He not only names who, but what is causing America not to make the steps forward to continue the advancement of liberty. In this 194 page book with over 60 pages of footnotes, Levin informs the future generations on how to inform themselves on keys issues. Such as the massive 18 trillion dollar debt, no lock on the social security lockbox, Medicare and Obamacare (on average premiums going up 40% annually), the expensive education and the leftist social experiment on universities. Including unlimited immigration, the phony EPA movement, the minimum wage attack on youth employment, lack of national security with the grow of nuclear arms and the importance of our Constitution. Levin ends the book with a call for a new civil rights movement, for next the generations to rise and become the Paulette and Paul Revere’s because in the words of Ronald Reagan, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.
