Portia is one of the offspring of the lovely Myla and Lincoln, but nowhere near how either of them are. Studying magic instead of fighting and tail-less, she's a magic user and marked to become the Void. Now, there was a few things that really irked me about this book, one being the extreme insta-love. Set in the world we know and love. This world is so big, its great to find new locations or hidden gems :) As always all scenes and environments are well detailed and clear, so you can fully focus on the story.
Character development was good! Portia is used to life as the shunned princess. With a destiny to become a void demon... yeah, it's no easy life. But she's not going down without a fight, learning all she can about the Void and going off with Tempest to bring light and energy back into the Firmament, which holds all the realms together.
Tempest had been absent from his friend Maxon's life for many many years, without any apparent reason. So when he finally does show up (and at Portia's side no less), many family members are in doubt of his honorable intentions and well, Maxon is livid :) As we journey with both Portia and Tempest amongst the realms, we do get to understand the why of it all.
Pacing and flow were really great. There was never a dull moment and a good balance between conversation and action.
The book itself was well written with no (noticeable) errors. And yes, there is sex described in this book (if that is important to you).
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book and I loved every minute of it. Highly recommend this series (in its entirety). (
