Lazlos Herkunft wird aufgeklärt, große Überraschung inklusive, und dann geht es überwiegend um die Mesarthim (an Bord der Zitadelle und auch auf dem Heimatplaneten). Der zweite Band entwickelt also als Geschichte in der Geschichte die Vorgeschichte der Zitadelle, und der Stillstand an Bord, zwischen Friedenswillen von Sarai und Lazlo und nicht nachlassenden Rachegedanken Minyas zieht sich dazwischen eine ganze Weile hin.
Erst das zusammenführen der beiden Stränge bringt dann wieder reichlich Action in die Geschichte - und ein Ende, mit dem ich so nicht gerechnet hatte.
Alles in allem ein guter zweiter Band für alle, die Strange the Dreamer geliebt haben und wissen wollen, was es mit Lazlo und der Zitadelle auf sich hat. ( )
