This story is about a family and how they celebrate Thanksgiving together. Abigail says that her family is perfect and that this is very present on Thanksgiving, when they are all together. The author of this book uses rhyming sequences in her style. This may help the children to remember what is going on in the story and to show her specific style of writing. What I liked about this book was that it was a fun and easy read. I read this to two girls that I babysit and they really enjoyed it. They thought that the illustrations in the story were really cute and funny. This book is perfect for children ages 3 to 5. ( )

This story is about a little girl and her family and the comparison between hers and a perfect one. For example they show abigail's family and how they sleep straight through the night but her family snores.

I really enjoyed this book because it showed how unique Abigail Archer's family is. Even though they are all different they are similar in one way and that is how loving their family is of their differences. I can use this when thanksgiving is near and to talk about how every family is different. ( )

This realistic fiction was a fun story about two different families and how they spend their Thanksgiving holiday. This was a good example of modern fiction because it wasn't a true story, however it had realistic events such as a family sitting down for dinner. I would use this book in a classroom to help students learn that all families celebrate things in different ways. I would then probably do a thanksgiving art project afterwards. I would use this book as more of a fun text, rather than super educational. ( )

This book is fantastic; it delves into a family's "not so perfect" routine on Thanksgiving. This book is a great option to choose in a read aloud around the Thanksgiving holiday. Filled with plenty of jokes, we come to notice that our families may not be the only family who are capable of embarrassing behavior. ( )
