Earl sounds like an awesome friend, though I don't love stories where animals get in trouble because humans don't understand their language. It makes me sad! Because for sure Buddy and Earl are going to get into lots more trouble, and Buddy is going to be reprimanded because the humans won't think that Earl could make such a mess, and even though Earl's going to try to explain it, the humans won't understand!! But I still want to follow their adventures! ( ) Buddy and Earl tells the story of a unusual friendship between a dog and a mysterious animal Buddy has never seen before. In trying to figure out what this animal is, Buddy gets distracted by this animal into playing and imagining they are pirates on a ship completely forgetting he has no idea what this animal is. In the end, Buddy realizes that though he cannot put a title on what kind of animal it is, he knows that it is his friend. This teaches learners to use prior knowledge in discovering something new and unrecognizable and that even though something is unidentifiable, they can learn to accept it for what it is. A story about how friendship and imagination can help cure our boredom. One of the best parts of this story is in the way it defines friendship. Earl and buddy make mischief together, but when buddy gets in trouble for it, Earl makes sure to take responsibility for his part in all of it. The story is simple, but highlights the importance of being imaginative, and sharing your imagination with a friend. This is about a hedgehog and a dog. The dog, buddy, didn't know what Earl, the hedgehog was. In the beginning of the book they both tried guessing what each other was. They were both wrong and started playing. The mom walked in and saw the mess and blamed Buddy for it, but Early took partial responsibility for his part in it.. Although the mom couldn't understand what Earl was saying, Buddy was appreciative and in the end he said, I know what you are, you are a friend. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

In this first book in the best-selling Buddy and Earl series, a dog who likes to play by the rules meets a hedgehog who knows no limits. Their friendship is tender and loyal, and their adventures are funny and imaginative.
