It is just so incredibly friendly and remarkably light weight at the same time. It feels like there is nothing to the text at all! This is of coarse an illusion, but one which is maintained successfully thought. I have always admired an educator who could inspire their students to learn without them even realising that they were in class, because they were having such a good time. Education should be fun! And this book makes it so.
On the inside cover you are presented with a Dungeons & Dragons styled pictorial line up of all the main characters - which for the Tempest with it's Wizards and monsters, works especially well.
On the same page you are given a quick synopsis before being treated to a two page comic strip adaptation of the play.
After the Contents page - which also reads like a quick reference to the whole story; we begin with the play proper in old English - but have no fear it is fully annotated alongside with plain English and little pictograms to lighten the load.
At the end of each act you get a revision summary, and before you know it you have reached Act 5 where you are treated to a recipe for Tempest Flapjacks as your reward! Now isn't that thoughtful! ( )
