In terms of it's unputdownability, it would compare well with Mario Puzo's fictional tome that had set out to chronicle the epicenter of all the psychopathic mayhem unleashed by the Mafia during it's second period and centered around the town of Corleone in Sicily.

This is it's non-fiction counterpart and equally well written along the lines of a thriller. Sprinkled with liberal doses of humor, intrigue and copious amounts of historical facts. The biographies of it's most famous protagonists like Al Capone and Lucy Luciano are laid out very nicely and concisely. It's three well segmented epochs are well described.
