First off, there is a cliffhanger. So, warning to those who aren't patient for a continuation on a story, you are warned. The next book, Cunning, is scheduled to come out January 19. So before you go read this and then cry over the ending, I have warned you. But that ending.... oh that ending. It solidified the over-the-top rating for this book! After meeting Alexandria and Nox for a week, I was left wondering just how their lives would intercept again. I knew they had to. They are the basis of this story. So, I kept wondering when it would happen and how. I got to follow these characters through their tumuluous meeting and week-long fling. Then I got to see the aftermath of how much their fling affected them aftwards. All the while, begging for these two to be reunited. But this is Aleatha. Nothing is ever that simple. Nothing is ever that easy. This wouldn't be an Aleatha book without it being tortuous, slow and painful. In true Aleatha-form, this story played out slow and painful. I loved every last second of it! Now, at first, I thought of comparing this book to Consequences. However, that wouldn't be fair to either book. They are nothing alike. The only likeness they really have is that they are both written by the same person and they have some unbelievable twists and turns. The comparison stops there. So I can't really compare them. I can say that this book left me jaw on the ground and my heart beating out of my chest. If you haven't read any of Aleatha's books before, I feel I need to warn you. This is not a fairytale love story. None of her books are. They are raw and will have your adrenaline pumping from start to finish. They are the other side of a fairytale. They are fairytales gone wrong, but in the best possible way. You find yourself in the most love-hate state of mind you could imagine. To say that I continue to be an Aleatha cheerleader is an understatement. Buckle-up, fasten your seatbelt and be ready for a new ride with Alexandria and Nox... you new favorite characters to talk about for the forseeable future! keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

One week. No future. No past. No more. Alexandria Collins has one week to live carefree—no ghosts of her past or pressures of her future haunting her. Reinventing herself as "Charli," she is knocked off her feet by a sexy, mysterious man who brings her pleasure like she never imagined. With her heart at stake, she forgets that decisions made in the dark of night reappear in the bright light of day. "Some of my tastes are unique. They aren't for everyone. I understand that." Lennox "Nox" Demetri is wealthy, confident, and decisive—he knows what he wants. From the first time he sees Charli at an exclusive resort, he knows he wants her. Although he is usually the one to make the rules, together they agree on one: One week. No more. When betrayal comes from those closest to Alexandria, she must decide how far she is willing to go to survive. Choices are not always easy, especially when they involve the heart, body, and soul. After all, Infidelity is a business, and some rules are meant to be broken. "Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?" From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a sexy, new dominant hero who knows what he wants, and a strong-willed heroine who has plans of her own. With classic Aleatha Romig twists, turns, deceptions, and devotions, this new epic romantic suspense will have readers swooning one minute and screaming the next. Have you been Aleatha'd? BETRAYAL is a full-length novel and the first of five in the INFIDELITY series. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

When Alexandria left for Stanford, she left behind a bullying stepfather, a cowed mother and half of her name. After graduating, she adopts a temporary persona and has a holiday fling before being summoned home and given a stark choice: do as we say or lose everything. How Alex deals with this ultimatum - and it's repercussions - form the end of this book and will take you into the next of four sequels. I loved this, but it's unlikely that I will buy the rest. I would happily pay £3.60 for a paperback which I can read, lend, give away, but not for an e-book which is only virtually mine; and that's a shame because I like Alex, and mystery man, Nox. ( )
