A story of a stuffed elephant made for a little girl. The elephant was made by the main character, Laura's great-grandmother. Laura's elephant's name is Charlotte because her mother had named it the pretties name she knew. A great story of handing down family treasures.

A young girl named Laura was having trouble falling asleep. Laura wanted her Mama to tell her the story about Charlotte, her stuffed elephant. The stuffed elephant was hand sewn by her Grandma for her Mama and when Laura was old enough, the elephant was given to Laura. This is a very cozy and lovable story that could be shared with young children and would make a great bedtime story. ( )

This is a lovely story from my childhood that my mother used to read to me before bed about a little girl named Laura. She couldn't sleep one night and was awake in bed. Her mother arrived and asked if she wanted to hear a bedtime story to put her to sleep. Laura again asked for the story of Charolette which was her favorite (even though she knew every detail of it already). Laura's mother began telling about her childhood when it was her birthday morning. She received a present through the mail from her grandparents. She opened it to find a beautiful stuffed elephant that she named, Charolette because she thought it was the most perfect name in the world. She treated Charolette as her best friend and took her everywhere with her. She treated her with so much care and love until she grew up and it was time to pass Charolette down. She decided to fix her up sew her, wash her, and wrapped it up for her daughter, Laura. Now Charolette is Laura's middle name, and she cares for Charolette like her mother did.

Laura Charlotte is a book that my mother gave to me when i was little. It is about a little girl who has a favorite stuffed elephant named charlotte. the toy once belonged to her mother whos grandmother made it especially for her birthday. this book tells the story of the little girls mother loving the toy, then passing it to her own daughter. it is kind of special for me because my daughter's name is charlotte, and she is the 5th generation of being the 1st born girl in my family.
this book would be useful in teaching a lesson on family ties, as well as taking care of children's belongings. a teacher could also ask students to bring in their favorite toy and tell the class their toys history. ( )
