Wow! Talk about a book running the full gamut of emotions! This is the first book by Maggie McGinnis that I have read & I will be ordering the first two in the series right away. It says something about the way an author writes when you find yourself smiling, laughing & crying while reading a written book. To invoke so many emotions takes true talent. I was drawn into the story from the first paragraph & it kept me emotionally involved through twists & turns to the end. This is a true sweet emotional HEA that will be enjoyed by many.

Delaney Blair is the daughter of a cardiologist that wanted to become a doctor until the realities of the medical world intruded. She received her MBA to work in the financial side of medicine instead. Through her work, she meets pediatrician Dr. McKenzie. She is detailed with cutting precious funding to his department. He challenges her to spend two weeks in his department before she comes up with a plan to cut corners. What follows is a journey of education, self discovery & deception that neither thought was waiting for them. Both of them have misconceptions & histories to overcome. You will love this book!!

The Echo Lake series continues with this story. A fairly light read with good plot pacing. While reference is made to characters from the first book, this book can be read on its own.
