I have read some of Ms. Vane's work in the past so I am familiar with her as an author. Love her historical romances. I had no idea that she wrote contemporary romance though. I received an ARC of Hell on Heels in exchange for an honest review. At the beginning it was touch and go for me. The build up to the intro between the main characters seemed far too drawn out. Once it happened however there was no going back. The tension permeated off the page in every interaction between Ty and Monica. There was no clear favorite for me in their steamy battle enjoyed it so much that that I am looking forward reading more contemporary from this author. ( ) For a star rating and complete review, visit InD'tale Magazine online March 2016 issue. http://indtale.com/reviews/contemporary/hell-heels-hotel-rodeo-1 Ty manages his hotel in Las Vegas, but with the change in times, it needs updating. His partner, Tom, the man who’s always helped him, is willing to invest the money into the update. When he suddenly has a stroke, his daughter comes to oversee her father’s health and investments. How will Ty be able to convince Monica that her father wants to invest in updating the hotel? She wants to sell the place and get back to her own career. Now the attraction between them seems to be making life a bit more complicated. When they both want their own way, the stakes skyrocket and all bets are off… Hell on Heels is yet another action packed, sizzling hot, work of art from Ms. Vane! Her stories are always comprehensive and lack nothing. The sexual tension between Ty and Monica was palpable and I couldn’t wait for consummation. When that came (of course, the pun is completely intended!), it was blatant and sizzling hot. Ms. Vane definitely knows how to warm me from the inside out when I read her romances, completely involved in every single word. Ty is quite a scrumptious cowboy who knows just how to please his women. He’s so alive in Hell on Heels, you’ll feel the lovin’ and that’s not only what I want, I’m sure it’s what every romance reader demands…and Ms. Vane will pull through every time! With the sneak peak at the next book in this series, I’ve already been drawn in for more and I can hardly wait! 5 Stars! This is a great story about opposites attracting. However, I believe they are more alike than they appear on the surface. The banter between Ty and Monica is well done and entertaining and made it hard to put down. I enjoyed Ms. Vane's writing style very much and look forward to reading more novellas in this series. Warning: If you don't like stories that end before tying up the loose ends, this series may not be the one for you. ARC received from Lyrical Press in return for an honest review. Ty Morgan has been running the Hotel Rodeo in Las Vegas for several years when Tom, the managing partner, has a stroke and is hospitalized. With Tom in the hospital the agreement he and Ty had just made about the future of the hotel may be in jeopardy. Why? Well, when Tom’s daughter, Monica, swoops in to save the day, take care of her father and take over the hotel she and Ty lock horns. Her solution is completely different from that of Ty and her father’s for the hotel and if she wins it will turn Ty’s life upside down. This is a love story but I have to say that Monica came across as a financially smart know-it-all-bitch who jumps to conclusions – she is all about the bottom line – no matter what. Ty is a charmer with a vision for the future and not willing to change the vision or share with others. Both have backgrounds that explain the reasons they are the way they are but I still don’t understand how such totally opposite people were drawn together so quickly. Sure, there was chemistry and there was physical attraction but… The two did have love of Tom in common and eventually they communicated, a little bit, but neither was 100% sold on the other by the last page…and neither was I. I have never liked abrupt cliff hanger endings and this book has one. I was also gifted the second book in the series so will read it to see what happens next. Thank you to NetGalley and Lyrical Press for the copy of this book to read and review. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
