Jasje Tak wordt op een dag gebeld door een handelsfirma die naar droomwerelden reist. Het avontuur waar hij in terechtkomt overtreft al zijn verwachtingen.

Er worden in dit boek zeer overtuigende andere werelden geschilderd, en hoofdpersonen die je bijblijven. Vol met onverwachte gebeurtenissen die toch allemaal naadloos in elkaar passen, bloedspannend zonder dat daar cliffhangers voor nodig zijn, met mythische verhalen en wijze lessen maar zonder Boodschap.

Een aanrader, voor kinderen en volwassenen. ( )

On the one hand a typical fantasy story of a young boy who goes on his travels to seek his fate, but on the other is inventive in its methods. I.e. set in modern day, deals with crossing between dream worlds, modern corporations yet set in ancient myth.

Liked the idea about learning to alter the world around you, dependent on what your own talent is.

Yes it is a bit long for the amount of 'storyline', but I found it very enjoyable. Children/young adults may struggle with the length. I did not.

I've been struggling to finish this, on and off, for about five years now. It seems as if there should be a good story in there, but the (translated) text is a nightmare to plough through, and I have now given up entirely. To Oxfam it goes! ( )

This book starts as an entertaining page turner, but it gets tedious. It is frankly too long for the subject matter. It is imaginative, sometimes novel, and the characters are well thought through, but as a children's book, I have to wonder how many of its intended audience will turn the 637th (reasonably cramped) page. ( )

I am so glad that I found this book, because it is really great. I agree with one of the reviews that more books should be translated because this is like... the Sandman (Neil Gaiman) of fantasy. 600 pages of pure imagination and fun! ( )
