Summary: The story was about Perdy and Pongo who were parents of fifteen wonderful puppies. However, two crooks stole the puppies for Cruella DeVil who wanted to make a coat out of the fur. By the end of the story, they find 101 Dalmatians who were locked in Cruella's house and the owners of the fifteen puppies take in all 101 Dalmatians.

Critical Response: The illustrations in this story were very powerful and they included large pictures for students to feel like they were part of the story.

Classroom Connections: Students love pets and this story would go along really well with discussing how you would feel if one of your pets went missing. In addition to this, students could write about how they would go about finding a lost pet. A good complementary activity would be showing the video 101 Dalmatians. ( )
