This book is about the concept of Spiderman and how Spiderman began. It also gives you details about Peter Parker's personal life (Family, Love Interests, etc.) and his enemies as Spiderman.
What I really liked about this book is how it emphasizes that Spiderman is not really larger than life but a real person with real problems. Children get a good message from this. They have someone they believe to be larger than life who they can relate to because they would have similar problems with other people.
The book also has little side factoids that relate to the story but really have nothing to do with the story. For example, when explaining one of Spiderman's enemies, Dr. Octopus, the little side bar has just a few small bullet points about actual Octopuses and their behavior. Pretty neat I think.
I highly recommend this book for the young read starting to read on their own. It is easy to read. It keeps the reader interested in "What's next" and lastly....hey, It' Spiderman. Who doesn't like reading about Spiderman? ( )
