This was a fun read. It covered the Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II paranormal entities but it also had ghosts from the Real Ghostbusters series as well, which I thought was neat. (

Thank god for Kyle Hotz's fantastic illustrations. They're literally the only good thing about this book, aside from the lovely overall package.

Look at the pretty pictures and ignore the writing.

Five stars for the illustrations, no stars for the writing. (

Huge Ghostbusters fan here (1984 film mostly, with a nostalgia love of the 2nd film, but an intense dislike of the cynical and political motivated reboot—Also the cartoon series before the network executives screwed it up). The ghosts in this guide are mostly inspired by The Real Ghostbusters series, but with a more adult take on them (for example, the Sandman doesn’t just make people fall asleep, he will sometimes take their eyes as well). Probably only a book of interest to the fans. (

I received a free copy of this e-book from the publisher, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review.

As a lifelong die hard Ghostbusters fan, I was delighted to see that Tobin's Spirit Guide was being published as an actual book. Anyone familiar with the movie will remember Ray and Egon mentioning this title. This book is supposed to be Ray and Egon's condensed version of the original Tobin's guide, meant for today's causal reader. I'm sure you could get a copy at Ray's Occult Books in New York.

The book itself is heavily illustrated and the actual text is entertaining enough. I don't think anyone outside of a Ghostbuster's fan will get really into this book, but it was a neat look into the Ghostbusters universe. I would defiantly recommend to any Ghostbuster's fan. (
