I think that children will enjoy it, It gives a step by step process for how information, electricity, signals, etc. goes from the plants to homes. I found it confusing to follow at times. Initially, I thought some of the pipes or beams were to be used as an arrow. I thought I would follow the "arrows" along the path until I reached the final destination, but I was wrong. The reader must follow the numbers, not hard. The visual was simply confusing initially. Kids will enjoy learning how satallites get information to their homes, etc. I would use this in a science or a social studies lesson (conservation lesson). As with any non-fiction book, would use it in and Informational Resource lesson to teach the parts of the book. It could be used by grades 4 and 5. ( ) I was actually pretty disappointed with this book. I guess I shouldn't have set my expectations so high, though, because I knew it was a children's book. It's just that there is very little actual *information* and *learning* in this book, it's much more about cute big illustrations and stupid metaphors that don't really teach anything.
