A tad slow going at first, but it got there eventually. I liked the world building, and the characters were endearing enough. If the author had used the same premise/characters for an action packed UF I would've been in love! As it stands I liked it okay...enough. My Wild Irish Dragon was a delightful read. Chloe and Ryan both want the same job at the safe fire station, but only one position is open. This leads to the two competing for the position. But, the chief finds funding to hire both since both are so well qualified. You think they would stop their competition now that both got the job, but their rivalry continues. Soon they learn to respect the other, become friends, and fall for one another. The banter and humor was enjoyable between these two. Their relationship felt honest and deep as it developed throughout the story. I also enjoyed several side characters and family members. I didn’t care so much for Chloe’s cousin Aiden and his storyline. I was a bit shocked that when he did something completely against Mother Nature’s rules their was no repercussions at all. The only thing that still gets to me and this bothered me in the first book too. Why can’t the shifters or supernaturals smell that someone is a shifter or a supernatural? They can use other aspects of their abilities when in human form. So, why can’t they use this one? This would clear things up and help. I had a pleasant time with My Wild Irish Dragon. I liked that two noble paranormals where trying to make a difference in their community. I also enjoyed the humor that was brought into the storyline. Rated: 3 Stars A a thousand year old dragon princess shifter from Ireland and a phoenix shifter are both in competition for a Boston firefighting position whilst keeping their abilities secret. Chloe is determined to make a new start in America, and Ryan is under pressure to uphold his family's firefighting legacy. Both are so well-qualified for the job that both are hired, but their rivalry continues. The dragons seem to be dying out and apparently female dragons can only reproduce with another dragon, and only every five years or so. Because of this, Chloe’s cousin Aiden arrives and demands he marry her to keep the race alive. As Chloe and Ryan's rivalry turns to romance, more complications arrive - one being that Ryan has to rise from the ashes. An okay read, the main character could have been developed more and the storyline had potential which I don't think was fulfilled. Ryan Fierro and Chloe Arish are both competing for the same slot in the Boston Fire Department. Each is uniquely suited to the job of a firefighter as he is a phoenix shifter and she is a dragon shifter. Fortunately, the budget is expanded so they both get jobs. Now they just have to figure out how to not let their attraction to each other get in the way of their work. I read paranormal, but usually with vampires or wolf shifters. This was a first and while I was a little disappointed that the shifter parts weren't emphasized, I still found this an interesting and well-written story. In some ways, it could just be a romance about an Irish girl and Italian boy from Boston. The secondary characters are fun and the romance is cute and a bit steamy. All in all, a fun read. 2nd book in the Boston Dragon series. Can be read as a standalone.
Chloe is a dragon and Ryan is a phoenix in the city of Boston. Both start out in competition for a firefighter position but their attraction to each other has them thinking kissing is better than fighting. Now they just need to tame all their paranormal friends and family to their version of happiness.
Paranormal fun and silliness. Although with a phoenix, you know there is going to be a death and rise from the ashes scenario. While I didn’t like the family solution, things work out enough to have a happy ending.
Hot sex scenes included. Yes, in human form! Not kinky, just detailed and often. They are a young and in love couple after all.
