To be honest, 3 stars feels really generous to me for this book. I never got into the writing style the author had. Like at all. We have two characters who are polar opposites and really don't belong together that it feels like we forced together. In fact, most of the initial interactions just feel like an assault we are saying isn't because this is erotica. The dynamic between the two doesn't read as romantic to me at all. Honestly the book felt very much like a wanna be 50 Shades fan fic. Talon is an unlikable character the entire book, but it's supposed to be okay and forgivable because he has a tortured past. It's not okay... also some heads up somewhere in the book about the details of this past would have been nice as they come out of nowhere and are unpleasant.
I read the book excited for an erotica romance and I have to say I was really disappointed in the writing of the scenes. It just didn't fit right. The wording of things really took me out of the moment and made it hard to enjoy the story. The two characters are so predictable it hurts. Jade is instantly in love with Talon the first time they sleep together; and he's just trying to get her out of his system. I just could not enjoy this story at all. Even when I wanted to. The last few chapters when we learn the Steel family has some hidden secrets all feel rushed and like they could have been explored a bit more if we had cut out some of the surplus scenes between Jade and Talon that didn't add to the story. Even though the book ends on a terrific cliffhanger... I have no desire to continue the series at this point. ( )

This book is full of explicit sex, which is not really my thing, but it also has an interesting plot. Too bad it ended abruptly without reaching any real conclusion. The characters are interesting but tortured. I hope Talon gets the help he needs. ( )

Yes, it is rather closely inspired by Fifty Shades, to put it nicely, which was itself originally fanfiction, but, hey, it's entertaining and with an engaging and dark central story arc. Overall, I can't knock it for what it is. ( )

You fall in love with each Steel Brother and sister and the women they end up with.... her books suck you in and you feel that you know each character personally. ( )
