I tried. I was reading "200 Years of Dover-Foxcroft History" by Louis Stevens. I will finish that book. Could not finish this one. It was too boring/painful to read. I was also reading Sunshine by Robin McKinley, and had the same opinion. This book is a fantastic story about the first humans who came from Asia to America and how they have to struggle for survival from other tribes, the climate change and feuds in their own tribe. One man to guide his tribe to a better place and will he succeed? ( )

La compré al hilo de la lectura de "Los hijos de la Tierra" de Jean M. Auel y lo único que me ha gustado algo de esta novela es la web de sus autores: Welcome to Kathleen O'Neal Gear & W. Michael Gear web site .

Al igual que Auel, los autores de esta "saga maestra del alba de la Humanidad" (eso dice Ediciones B en la cubierta) ponen en práctica esa peculiar forma de literatura a caballo entre el rigor científico, la novela histórica y los relatos de aventuras, pero no volveré a leerla ni buscaré otros títulos de la dichosa saga. Se me ha hecho insufrible, los momentos de interés han sido tan efímeros que ni los recuerdo. La he leído al tercer intento, es decir, estamos en 2006 y la compré en 1992. Sí, lo he hecho por pura cabezonería.

De todos modos, para el que esté interesado: la novela nos sitúa en ese momento histórico en el que las distintas fases de la evolución del Hombre tuvieron que coincidir y luchar por sobrevivir.

Conclusión. Dejé la lectura de las novelas de Auel en la tercera entrega y quizá tenga que retomerlas si quiero seguir con relatos ambientados en la Prehistoria. ¿Lo hago?.
