As a poetry geek, I was pleasantly surprised by this title. I was expecting a novelty/joke book but, while I Could Pee on This Too could certainly serve that purpose, it is fully prepared for more deeper reading. The poems here actually use some strong poetic methods, especially some lovely last-line turns, reminiscent of those found in sonnets. I would have liked to see a little more variety in the poems, as the format & rhythm can become a bit monotonous in a cover-to-cover read, but hey, they're cats, right? They can stare at a blank wall for hours, so they're likely pretty immune to the ennui of monotony. My major quibble here is with the images. The selected photographs aren't bad, but given the seemingly infinite number of awesome/hysterical/cute cat images that can be found with a simple internet search, i found the selection here to be a little lackluster. A good gift for your cat-loving friends that can also find a home in some school libraries as an introduction to poetry for your more poetry-adverse students. That being said, the poems themselves reveal some of the less than desirable traits that cats can occasionally exhibit. Not liking the other cat, being provoked by humans (e.g., changing the menu or using the cat carrier), and generally getting even with the things they don’t like, are all subjects explored by some these cat poets which have exposed the seamier side of catdom. Still, these are poems by cats about cats – what’s not to like? Maybe book number three will dwell on the cuter countenance of cats. As a cat lover, I was sure to find these little poems humorous. My students also love when I expose them to non-traditional poetry, so I'm sure this will live on in our Poetry Month readings.Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. It's a lovely, silly little book for reading in short doses. I'm not sure there's anything here you couldn't get from the original, aesthetically speaking, but it's quite entertaining and diverting nonetheless. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

"There's a new cat in town! This feisty sibling of the international bestseller I Could Pee on This will be making its own sensational mark in the cat-poetry world. I Could Pee on This, Too explores fresh feline emotions and philosophical musings through cats' own poetry, such as "Welcome New Cat," "Sleeping My Life Away," and "You Also Live Here." Any cat lover who's longed for a deeper look into the enigmatic world of their cats will fall whiskers over paws for this well-versed follow-up"-- Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

If you make me wear
A little hat
You might as well get me
A little shirt
And little pants
And the deed to your property
Because dressing as a human
Is when the pigs in “Animal Farm”
Took control of everything
My favorite from this volume but there were others that also made me laugh out loud. Cute accompanying pictures as well. Great quick read for cat lovers. ( )
