I got a bit behind in reading the men's series - this is the second book, and I've read up to the fourth in the women's POV series. I would have said I didn't remember much of the story of Michelle and Emmitt - but I recognized all the events in here, so I guess I did. Interesting, as always, getting the man's POV on an event, and what he thinks was going on, after starting with what the woman thinks is happening. Emmitt is a white knight, and also (despite his frequently expressed frustration (expressed to his brother and Wini, not to Michelle)) amazingly patient. Michelle is in a very bad place, having just escaped from serious physical and emotional abuse...by werewolves, physically similar to Emmitt and his kin. She manages to shift her perceptions very fast (not that Emmitt thinks so), and comes to (more or less) trust him and his kin - which is good, because things get even more twisted and dangerous very quickly. By the end of this book (and its companion), the wolves are beginning to understand the form and magnitude of the danger they're in. The next book gives them a framework to hang this understanding on - I've read the woman's book, though not yet the man's. This (these) is a very complicated series, and reading them in (reasonably) quick succession is probably a good idea. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

After six years away from his pack, Emmitt realizes he has no idea what he wants from life. His parents want him to lead the pack, and the Elders expect him to further integrate his people into human society. His reluctance to take on the demanding responsibility of leadership has him dragging his feet to return home. Finding his Mate changes everything. Michelle's shy and beautiful and on the run. She needs somewhere to stay and someone to take care of her. Suddenly, responsibility doesn't seem like such a burden to Emmitt. He'll do whatever it takes to earn her trust and keep her safe...even from one of his own kind. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
