There's so much lying in this book, seriously, no wonder the heroine took a fit and basically distrusted everyone. Joanna Radcliff is resigned to her fate, to become a governess and to watch other people's children grow up, she didn't realise that some would be obnoxious, or that she would find herself having to make hard choices, and also having to deal with money woes and family politics and complicated life choices, along with chance in life that makes her unsure of her bearings. Into this is Major Preston who is trying to work out what to do with his life as heir to his brother, he needs to marry, but he would really like to be back in the army.

Life she is complicated. I enjoyed the read. ( )
