Okay so we have another DK who finds his mate, Dmitri and Faith, but .....ARG....we have more questions than answers! Dang it Donna Grant what are you trying to do, send me to the crazy house not even the kids have managed that...though they did try their hardest!

So Faith is an archaeologist whom discovers a dragon's skeleton. Word gets out and Con sends Dmitri to find out what is going on. Of course it doesn't hurt that where the skeleton was found is where Dmitri and his whites used to call home. It brings up a lot of pain and wonder for him.....how did he miss this dragon and what happened to it?

For a woman of science Faith rolls with the flow. Believes her assistant Tamir when he tells her something isn't right and he senses evil in the air. Now is this a bit of foreshadowing, will Tamir play a bigger role somewhere on down the line? I'm thinking good possibility since he obviously has some fae blood in him if he was able to resist the Dark and he can sense magic/evil.

Things go awry, Dmitri and Faith get the rest of the expedition to pack it up and go home. One death was enough to convince most of them to run...fast. But things really get interesting when the bones are moved and Faith finds a wooden dragon. Hmmmmm

Long story short, someone has bewitched the little wooden figure and not even Rhi understands how it was done and who could have done it. Dmitri, Con, Rhys, and Killian feels the effects of it. .. so did Faith but she didn't know she was being manipulated.

Now here is where more questions come....who put the figure there for Faith to find? Does this mean an even more dangerous foe than Ulrik and Mekkel? What do you mean Ryder can not find out any evidence who Faith's father is? Balladyn and Ulrik joining forces...really? Usaeil is not going to be happy and just what is Con going to do about this?

Oh, that reminds me....what the hell is going on? I mean Rhi has proof of the affair between Con and Usaeil, she confronts him and it's not the big blow out we all thought it would be considering this is Rhi facing off against Con?!?!?!? It was....adult of them. They were mostly calm, rational and even logical in the way they dealt with one another. Shared thoughts and information....and AGREED (???) that something has to be done about Usaeil. Only good thing about this whole....truce?.... is that one of these books the Queen is going to get hers. Rhi's buried/altered memories....ooh, someone's going to pay for that. And why is Death not more upset that Rhi is starting to piece together memories were taken from her and she wants to know why. And when Con confirms he had taken Usaeil as his lover but now she's hit the crazy train and he wants out.
Oh and let's not forget that the Reaper's have now been mentioned!

Donna I love you and I know you have a life....signings and all that other stuff, but you need to get me the next one ASAP, double time! please and thank you.

FIRESTORM is the latest, much anticipated book 10 in the Dragon Kings series. Donna Grant does not disappoint! I had a hard time keeping my jaw off the floor. Oh the revelations!!!!
Truth be told, I just wanna crawl in this universe and live. It's full of mystery, suspense, danger, magic, Dragons, Druids, Fae and Highlanders. What more could you ask for?!?
It starts off with a gut wrenching prologue that almost had me in tears then proceeds to take you on a rollercoaster ride that will keep you totally enthralled. I honestly think I read it record time. I couldn't put it down nor could I read fast enough.
Since this is book 10 in the series, I'm not sure you can jump in and start from here since it is a rather complex storyline. I DO, however highly recommend this series starting from [b:Dark Heat: The Dark Kings Stories|17566623|Dark Heat The Dark Kings Stories (Dark Kings, #0.1-0.3)|Donna Grant|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1389742731s/17566623.jpg|24502277] which is book 1.
I was given a copy of this book from the publisher via netgalley for my honest, unbiased review. ( )

Firestorm by Donna Grant
Dark Kings #10

Dragon bones found in a cave are just the hook at the beginning of this fast paced story. With dark forces wanting to get their hands on the bones and existing dragons wanting the bones to disappear a lot is at stake. Add in snippets from other series all linked to the Dark Kings series and I came away wanting to begin at the beginning with books unread and read them all. I was not lost and this book does stand on its own but I felt that if I had read the previous books and the other series linked to it I would have seen more and been able to understand a bit more at some points in the story.

Dmitri, King of the White Dragons, is sent by his king to Fair Isle to deal with the dragon bones. They must disappear and he is chosen to take care of the issue. Little did he know going in that he would find a smart, strong, and sensual woman, Faith Reynolds, who would end up being his mate. With evil magic and Dark Fae to contend with, bones to save, a love undying to create and a mystery still unsolved this book had a lot going on. I enjoyed the relationship between Dmitri and Faith and really want to know who her father might be (maybe a dragon?) and wonder how that will play into the next book. I also wonder what will happen with other characters mentioned in the book even though I have just heard of them for the first time. I hope that a solution will be found for the dragons and that their King of Kings will find a HEA someday. I can almost see this as a TV series…wonder who I would sign for actors and actresses to play the parts…

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC. This is my honest review.
