"Before your very eyes, this little redhead is about to do something extremely daring. And scary. And she'll show you--she'll actually document, step-by-step--exactly how she does it. First, she takes her daddy and makes him stand very still, then, balancing herself on his shoe, she wraps her arms tightly around a leg and starts her perilous ascent to the summit"--Publisher's blurb.… (mehr)

This is a silly book about a girl going through all the steps of climbing the Daddy Mountain. There truthfully isn't anything to the story besides that!
Uses: I don't think this is really a book for school unless it's just sitting in the classroom library as a free option for kids to read when they have time. I wouldn't use it in class, simply because there isn't anything to be gained from reading it other than reading practice.
Medium: pencil, watercolor

We had been calling our daughter's father Daddy Mountain (after the Charlie the Unicorn web-vid, Candy Mountain), so how stoked were we to find a book by the same name? So stoked!!

A cute story of a little girl using her daddy as a climbing apparatus, reminding herself all the time to be careful and be brave. An adorable story for daddies and daughters to read together. Highly recommended! ( )

The Daddy Mountain is an adorable book that illustrates the adventure one girl has involving her dad. The adventure is terrifying, but her determination helps her climb 'Daddy Mountain.' I really enjoyed reading this book and seeing how the illustrations connected to the text as the character demonstrated her climbing. Overall, I would recommend this book for children under the age of 5 years old. ( )

I would suggest The Daddy Mountain for children in nursery to primary, while the concept of the book is easy to follow there are a few challenging words. I would not recommend this book to anyone. At first I thought it could be interesting when just glancing at the cover, but once I read it, I found there to be no attention grabbing content. However, I did like the illustrations, I thought it was interesting how they made the girl colorful and the dad black and white. I also liked the proportions of the girl to the dad; while we could see the whole body of the girl we could only see the feet of the dad. I would not use this book in a school setting, but parents who like to actively play with their children may enjoy this book.
