A lovely folktale from Abenaki story tellers. :) For all the kids that just can't wait until winter for snow. This was a very cute book. The rabbit was determined for it to snow in the middle of summer. So, the rabbit did his dance and sang his song that he sung during the winter to make it snow. All of the other animals were not happy with what the rabbit was doing. Once the rabbit finally got tired there was a lot of snow, so he climbed up the tallest tree to go to sleep. The rabbit did not think about the sun coming up and melting all of the snow, and it did just that. Now the rabbit is stuck, and falls down the tree loosing his tail. Hopefully the rabbit learned a lesson and will be patient for winter. Rabbit's snow dance is a great book for kids. It is interactive with the snow chant that the classroom learns very quickly and enjoys so much. This would be a good book to read at the beginning of winter before the first snow fall as it will get the kids excited for snow, and if the timing is good the kids will think they made it snow. Rabbit's snow dance would be great to use in a lesson on patience and why it's important to have it. The rabbit learned that patience is important, if he had patience to wait for winter instead of making it snow in the summer time he never would have lost his long beautiful tail that he loves so much. I had never heard of Rabbit's Snow Dance so I wanted to check it out. I love the way it explains why rabbits have such little tails. Theres some good lessons to take away from this story such as always to be patient and to be careful what you wish for. As I read this book I kept imagining reading it to children and how interactive it could be. You could get your class to repeat the words of his snow dance and have a really great musical time. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
