The fate of two missing teenage girls becomes a father's worst nightmare.... Just a year and a half after the tragic death of his wife, Bill Price's fifteen-year-old daughter, Summer, and her best friend, Haley, disappear. Days later, the girls are found in a city park. Haley is dead at the scene, while Summer is left beaten beyond recognition and clinging to life. As Bill holds vigil over Summer's bandaged body, the only sound the unconscious girl can make is one cryptic and chilling word: No. And the more time Bill spends with Summer, the more he wonders what happened to her. Or if the injured girl in the hospital bed is really his daughter at all. When troubling new questions about Summer's life surface, Bill is not prepared for the aftershocks. He'll soon discover that both the living and the dead have secrets. And that searching for the truth will tear open old wounds that pierce straight to the heart of his family.… (mehr)

When Bill Price's teen daughter, Summer, and her friend, Haley, go missing, he is hopeful when he is called to the hospital to sit with his injured daughter. After being questioned by the police, issues surrounding his relationship with his dead wife and his daughter surface. He starts to wonder if he really knows his daughter. As time passes, he begins to wonder if his daughter is actually the one lying in the hospital bed, or is she the one whose body was so beaten, it was difficult to identify?
Bill tries to understand what brought his daughter to this fate, and what he could have done to foresee it. Is there anything he can do to prevent others having the same outcome, and do those close to him truly care for him, or are they hiding something. ( )

Readable but disappointing. I found Bill Price to possibly be the most unlikeable, dangerously angry and out-of-control protagonists of the hundreds of mysteries I've read. A bully with a chip on his shoulders because he didn't trust his wife, and didn't understand his daughter. He plows into anyone or anything in his way to find his missing daughter. Suddenly he wants to be the good dad.

Poorly written, Bring Her Home didn't include any of the depth, grace, wisdom or creativity I crave. Will not read any other of Bell's books.

This book definitely kept me reading. However, it's the morning after that the questions kept popping up in my mind...how did that body get in the casket, why weren't the boys questioned more seriously, what was the point of the weird guy in the woods? Still, I have to say it kept me reading! ( )

Summer and her best friend have been missing for 2 days and her father has just received word. Two girls have been found in a local park. Both girls are beaten beyond recognition: 1 is clinging to life in the hospital and 1 is dead. Both girls' appearance is so similar that they could pass for twins...just like Summer and her friend Haley. As both girls parents begin to unravel what happened to their children, they must also discover if this pair of girls might be Summer & Haley...and which one is living and which one is dead...

This book was awesome! I literally could not put it down and was thrown for plot twists almost the whole way through the book. This is a must-read! ( )

Good story that kept me turning the pages and anxious to find out what really happened! The characters weren't deeply developed, but nonetheless I was able to empathize with them. Some improbable interactions. ( )
