This is my first book by this author but after reading this book I will definitely have a look at the rest of the series.

This book is Jace and Vivienne.

The Hero is a rough diamond who has a strong network of friends he views as family. This is a really integral part of the story, their brotherhood, the history and purpose of this is revealed as the story progresses.

The heroine is described as 'uptight', she has had a difficult background and a wayward sister. Shes a hard worker but reluctant to take a walk on the wild side.
When they meet they are both attracted to each other but both are reluctant to get involved. Jace has a lot going on with his business and isn t sure he can invest in chasing Vivienne esp as she is so hard to read.

It is sort of Insta but also not as it takes time for them to get physical and definitely takes time for them to sort out a relationship.

For the safety gang.
After the Hero meets the heroine he takes another woman home but stops things with her and sleeps on the couch. There are no details, it starts the morning after where he has a conversation with her trying to get her to leave that sounded okay but then it seems from this comment below they did have some sort of intimacy.
"If I was cold, I’d have sent you home last night when I figured out I wasn’t interested instead of giving you relief and letting you sleep the Scotch off alone in my bed. And, in case it missed your notice, you’re the only one who got off, so I’m not gonna string you along and let you think we’ll ever have anything else."

It isn't dwelt on so it didn't bother me and it is sometime before he can even get close to Viv and in that time he isn't with anyone else. She hasn't been with anyone for 2 years or so.

There is some ex drama after that on his side but he isn't interested and it is dealt with.

Lots of secondary characters which gives excellent banter and humor and I would be interested to read some of their stories.

HEA. In a series like this the couples usually appear in the rest of the series and with the bond these men have I would expect that.

I did get a bit frustrated with the heroines lack of trust in the Hero esp as she sees a lot of things under the surface that he doesn't allow others to see but that's her issue that she needs to overcome.

Once Jace sorts himself out he is all in and doesn't look elsewhere.
No cheating.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine. ( )

Oh my! What a story. In spite of the characters being raw and dirty and gritty, they are just too ADORABLE! The best part is that they all have LONG HAIR! I LOVE long hair. And yeah Viv has had a hard life but Jace is there every step of the way to make it better. I love the way he breaks down her walls even though he tries like hell not to be a bull in a china shop. And that is what won my heart. Can't wait to read more about the Haven Brotherhood.

The language is odd, in multiple ways - the many obscene adjectives are...rather boring, and make me think less of the speakers (though they do tail off, or at least down, after a while). There's also quite a few odd choices of words, some of which strike me as the author trying to use words she doesn't really understand. And the sex scenes are extended, detailed to the point of being clinical, and a bit too much to be hot. And with all that said - it's an incredible book, with solid characters with depth I don't see very often. Actions and reactions are based on real motivations and history; the connections between all of the characters are vivid and fascinating. Jace is a pain-in-the-butt alpha who's willing to crawl if that's what Viv needs; Viv has repressed herself for years, and Jace allows (requires) her to finally let loose, in all aspects of her life. The story uses several tropes I love, including abused person learns to trust again - Jace almost as much as Viv. It's a long, dense, complicated book; I loved it, and I'm starting the next one right now. ( )

This is my first book by Ms. Morgan. I’ve had her Eden series on my reading radar for sometime and I thought I would start with that series, since I mainly read Paranormal Romance / Urban Fantasy, but then I won a copy of the first book for the Haven Brotherhood series. I’m glad I picked up this book.

Let me introduced you to The Haven Brotherhood. Five men, who all have checkered pasts, joined together to make a family and become brothers, not by blood, but by loyalty and obligation. Each brother has a hidden depth to them and add in the rough and tumble biker, well you will fall in love with each one.

Jace Kennedy, what a man. He’s an intelligent businessman, co-founder of the Haven Brotherhood, is charitable and active in the community. But for all that he has a vulnerable side that gets drawn out as you read. I really savored Jace. He's such a great and well developed character to fall in love with. The man is a bad-boy with a heart of gold.

Vivienne Moore, a straight-laced buttoned-up event planner or so she portrays to the world, but deep inside she has hidden away her true-self and thinks that by suppressing her nature, she will be safe. But in doing this she is stifling herself, not living up to her true potential and freedom. Let’s just say Viv needed someone to mess up her perfect boring life. I wasn’t totally on board with Viv, but by the end she turned out ok.

As for the story their is a little side mystery/danger that Jace and his brothers have to deal with, but the main focus is on the relationship. Jace knows what he wants, but he also respected Viv and reined in his nature for her, so he wouldn’t scare her away. The sexual tension between them was explosive, off the chats, and once they hit the sheets, WOW.

I LOVE the men who formed the Haven Brotherhood and can’t wait to read their stories. Each brother comes with a different background and has brought something different to the family. It’s an entertaining concept.

Rough & Tumble was a satisfying and delightful read in the Haven Brotherhood series.
