Learning to do that is a theme in this book. This quotation really sums it up for me, "I had to find ways to make it as a monster, to find my own path without other people trying to save me at every turn. I needed to be able to stand on my own two feet, tail, whatever." If you like urban fantasy, give this series a whirl. I never seem to be able to sleep when I am reading a Shannon Mayer book. I convince myself that I'm going to read just one more chapter and then it turns into three. Does anyone else suffer from this strange phenomenon? (
