This time C-3PO shares the cover with Poe, and for good reason - he pretty is a droid spymaster and is Poe's sidekick during a secretive mission. Elsewhere, readers finally get a backstory on returning villain Terex and his past (spoiler the dude fought at the battle of Jakku). This was fun and I feel that Soule captured Dameron's cocky attitude. ( ) As usual, good graphics and great story. Continuing with the Terex/Dameron storyline, Terex defies the First Order and creates his own army of mercenaries. Meanwhile, Poe and Oddy are heading to a bad planet to get information on the person Leia wants him to find. I loved the droid that was defiant against Poe. Looking forward to continuing with this series. olume 2 following the adventures of Poe Dameron and Black Squadron and their ongoing battle against Terax. We have much more C-3PO, lose a member of Black Squadron with absolutely no fanfare whatsoever, which is really harsh and have plenty more Poe and BB8 fun. Apart from the lack of care about the pilots loss, this is full of fun, fights and flying. This was such a pleasure to read! As a writer, Soule's writing can feel a little muddy. The plot and motivations are unclear, while there's just a lot of action and establishing of characters. But, as this is the second volume in the series, it's picked up. I felt that the stakes had been clearly established in this volume (which is important in a Star Wars story) and I saw a really well-crafted villain origin story, which I love. Phil Noto's art is beautiful as always. I almost can't describe it. It's so luminous, and soft, and flawless and it moves so well across the page. The cover of issue 13 (with Poe reflected in Phasma's helmet) is a particularly excellent example of his work. I think I love his art so much in the Star Wars universe because he renders so many metallic objects (or droids) so beautifully. I love Poe. He's the type of man we think of when we think of heroes. Good, charismatic, arrogant and the kind of man who stays behind for his friends when they're in trouble. This is a comic about underdogs winning, even when all the odds are against them. Totally going to read the third volume. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
