I thought this so cute magic book. I adored both the characters and the world building were so well done. I loved amber as character and also her struggles with life and her match making powers. I love the cast of magic creatures that we met and how they were represented in the world. I usually am not a fan of the school magic books but this one was done so well. I also loved seeing the various romance matches and the fall out from them in the book. The book kept me reading for all the leads and it was so well done. It did not suffer from any world building issues and Just want to live in this world. I highly rec. this book if you enjoy witch novels. ( )

Windy City Magic, Book 1 - The Best Kind of Magic by Crystal Cestari is an honest to goodness, sweetheart of a story. YA the pure kind of romance magical beings = a fun, fun weekend read!

Written from our sassy heroine's point of view, you get a taste of the magical world through the eyes of a teen with sharp wit and a good heart. Though she may not be a full witch like her mother, Amber's matchmaking skills are certainly a special gift.

I absolutely enjoyed Amber's interactions with the non-magical but super charming Charlie, her best friend/clairvoyant Amani, her Wiccan mother and even the dreaded siren Ivy and the untrustworthy witch Victoria. Oh, Ivy and Victoria... Cestari sure knows how to whip up the perfect villains!

Amber is likeable and, in a way, relatable. I may have no magical, matchmaking abilities but we've all shared similar snide thoughts. I love Amber's fearlessness to speak out and do what she feels is best to protect the ones she loves.

There was nothing about this read that was too much or too little. It was a breezy, refreshing story with a bit of drama, a dash of danger and a taste that leaves you thirsty for the "what next."

Seriously... what's next?! Looks like we find out February of 2018 and I'm looking forward to it. Windy City Magic, Book 2 - The Sweetest Kind of Fate has already been added to my TBR list!

Thank you, NetGalley and Disney Book Group/Disney-Hyperion for the opportunity to read this digital ARC in exchange for my honest feedback and review!

This was a really cute debut about Amber Sands, a witch from a family of witches, who unfortunately hasn’t inherited her mother’s awesome witchy powers. What she does have is the abilities of a matchmaker. She can stare into your eyes and see the person who is your true love. Interesting scenario! Except trouble ensues when Amber finally meets a boy she truly likes, Charlie, and she can see the girl in his happy future… who isn’t her.

I really enjoyed the relationship between Amber and Charlie, and also the witch-y paranormal stuff. Crystal Cestari has a great writing voice. Very funny. The teenage drama with her mom was classic with witch-like complications of course. There is also a mystery to be solved, and a cool best friend, who I liked as well. Will definitely be reading book two!

Amber Sand is a teenage matchmaker considered low on the level of magic users. Her mother on the other had is a highly skilled witch who owns Windy City Magic in downtown Chicago. When the a long time friend who happens to be the mayor is in need of help to track down his lost girlfriend, he turns to Amber’s mother while at the same time the mayors son seeks the help to the matchmaker to verify that the girlfriend is not his fathers true match.
This book is full of mischief managed twist and turns. A funny book filled with vampires, sirens, goblins and true love.

I have to say that I love the fact that the authors name is Crystal!
