No matter what happened, she would always have that. And the part about the jewel with arms, she supposed. This was my second time reading this book, and I must say, I adored it even more! It's simply perfect. The humor, the wit, and all the fluffy goodness—it's all there. Every single character exudes charm! The banter between Ash and Emma was not only charming but also incredibly witty. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times. 5/5 for any classic/cheesy Historical Romance enthusiast! (  ) selsha | Apr 15, 2024 | I Love that the Duke of Ashbury maintained his brusque manner throughout the story but at the same time contradicted it at every turn. He even let a young man become his "apprentice" for the Monster of Mayfair which was adorable. I adored how Emma teased him with pet names at each available opportunity, when they were playing badminton and she exclaimed and called him a darling angel muffin, I lost it. Tessa Dare knows how to write stories that are funny, delightful, and sexy!
