Solid for a children's/young adult book, but given the title, I would have loved to see more "world", as in more countries and regions represented. ( ) I was just looking over my favorite reads in 2017 and didn't see this book on my Goodreads list. Glad I caught that, because this is an outstanding book and one I highly recommend for readers of all ages although it was written with teens in mind. A great addition to every home, school, and public library. Prager aims for great diversity in this collection of biographies of queer folk who have made a difference in the world, as a result it is not a collection of the names you often see. I, for one, was thrilled to see the woman I was named after, Queen Christina of Sweden, included. Explores how varied gender and sexuality have been central parts of history. In brief but engaging overviews, this book highlights the significant contributions of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual individuals to world history.
