It was more violent than I was expecting, but that's on me - Hutch's paranoia is a warning. The rapid connection felt justified, if a little sparsely illustrated while they're trapped. Maybe that's because this is in a shared series, with a word count limit. Nothing feels missing from then on. This isn't my favorite Easton book by a long shot (haha) because it is missing intensity I've come to expect. Again, that may be a publisher thing or a series thing, required word count range the writer isn't allowed to exceed. I don't know. Hope so. I'd like more in-depth stories from such a talented author. Wow, the blurb really does not put this in the right category. If you're expecting sweet, snowed-in, learn to love again, try something else! Really was not prepared for Despite the very good start (as well as the middle of the story), I can only give this book 3.5 stars. Jude had a lot of sucking-upping to do, hostages or not, but somehow it magically worked out between him and Hutch. Not blaming Jude entirely, he had no choice, yet somehow it still felt wrong. The ending was rather disappointing, too, the way the guilty party (and I don't mean the mobster) went down. I expected a little more, with Hutch personally involved one way or another. Out of all the players he was the one with nothing left to lose and plenty of reasons to do it, but it turned out someone else did all the dirty/hard work for him while he was tanning on the beach. Still, the first 2/3 of the book was great, the kid wasn't annoying which is always a huge plus, and for that I am rounding the stars up. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Snow, steam, and secrets. When Jude Devereaux--on the run from a domineering lover--seeks shelter at a secluded Alaskan cabin, unable to make it to town before the blizzard hits, suspicious SOB Hutch is naturally wary, but Jude isn't just gorgeous, he's funny and smart and flirtatious. Good things happen over the three days they're snowed in, and by the time the storm clears, Hutch finds himself a little too attached. But is Jude who he claims? The last thing Hutch wants is to re-enter the world of espionage and violence he came to Alaska to escape, but the threat to Jude is unthinkable. Hutch refuses to let anything bad happen... even if it means delving into secrets Hutch thought were hidden for good. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

Look. I don’t want to give too much away, but this had some flirty banter and some very good smexy. It also had a fabulous alpha male with a military background who is totally undone by a stranger in need who basically falls at his doorstep during a brutal blizzard. The love progression is fast, but it’s very plausible, and that shouldn’t be a surprise in such capable hands as Easton.
Rarely a book can keep me rapt, especially since I do the majority of my reading at bedtime. Let’s just say I read this in one go and was dead on my feet the next day.
Once the twist occurs, the action and suspense never lets up and neither do the swoony feels!
Unfortunately, this looks like it’s in DSP limbo as the audio is the only thing available. However, if you’ve had this waiting in your library, just know it’s giving you the stink eye wondering what the hell you’re waiting for, and I have to say I agree! Read!
