The case of the gilded lily: Caught up in an elaborate blackmail plot, Stewart G. Bedford turns to Perry Mason when he is charged with the murder of one of the blackmailers. The case of the daring decoy: A no-holds-barred proxy war for a rich Texas oil company ends in murder with a perfect frame. Perry Mason has two problems. His client, Jerry Conway, is the prime suspect. And Perry himself is the accused accessory. The case of the fiery fingers: Poker-faced Nellie Conway, the nurses bed-ridden Elizabeth Bain, brings trouble when she calls on Perry Mason with a glass phial containing four pills which she suspects are poison. Her employer, Nathan Bain, she says, had promised her money to give them to his wife. But when Mason has one of the pills analyzed it is found to consist of acetylsalicylic - in other words good old-fashioned aspirin. IS Perry Mason's client a hoaxer, a psychopath or something trickier. Nathan Bain's next move is to accuse Nellie of theft and provide proof by shining ultra-violet light on her fingers. The case which began like a joke suddenly becomes sinister. Perry gets his client out of this spot but trails her to Orleans where he has a hard job disentangling fact from theory on the subject of Mrs. Bain. The case of the lucky loser: The offer the woman made was too intriguing to pass up. But what began as a request for a simple courtroom visit turned into a mystery of baffling complexity. And to save his client from a charge of airtight murder and sizzling scandal, Perry Mason will have to break all the rules--and more than one law!The case of the calendar girl: When the young woman George Ansley drives home turns out to be the last person to have seen Meredith Borden alive, Ansley becomes a murder suspect and must rely on Perry Mason to prove his innocence. The case of the deadly toy: When Norda Allison sees her husband-to-be slap his young son, she immediately calls off the wedding. Now she is terrified. Her ex-fianc has beat up her new boyfriend. Anonymous newspaper clippings are flooding her mailbox-articles graphically depicting what jilted men do to the women who leave them. Then Norda's life takes an even darker turn. It begins with a barking dog, a child's scream, a gunshot, and the discovery of a very dead body-and ends when Norda is arrested, charged with a brutal murder. Now only brilliant courtroom strategist Perry Mason stands between Norda and a sentence of certain death . . .The case of the mischievous doll: A mysterious young woman, Dorrie Ambler, wishes to prove her identity to Perry Mason. She wants him to witness her appendectomy scar, claiming she has a double. The double turns out to be Minerva Minden, madcap heiress of Montrose. Mason has his work cut out for him when his investigation leads him to a dead man in an apartment building. The case of the amorous aunt: America's leading fictional lawyer returns to rise to the challenge of another criminal conundrum--and another courtroom confrontation. Is a well-to-do widow about to marry a fortune-hunting Bluebeard? Her nervous niece thinks so, and hires Perry Mason to get the goods on the groom. But soon the groom-to-be turns up dead. The case of the amorous aunt: America's leading fictional lawyer returns to rise to the challenge of another criminal conundrum--and another courtroom confrontation.
