Mythology. Romance. Historical Fiction. Young Adult Fiction. HTML:From Colleen Houck, New York Times bestselling author of The Tigerâ??s Curse, comes the third and final book in the Reawakened series in which Lily will train to defeat evil once and for all and find a way to her everlasting love.

After surviving her otherworldly adventure, Lily wakes up on her nanaâ??s farm having forgotten everything. Her sun prince, her travels to Egypt, and her journey to the Afterlife are all distant memories.
But Lily is not the girl she once was. Her body is now part human, part lion, and part fairy. And if that isnâ??t bad enough, she must harness this power of three and become Wasret: a goddess destined to defeat the evil god Seth once and for all.
With the help of her old friend Dr. Hassan, Lily departs on her final voyage through the cosmos and across the plains of Egypt. On the journey, she will transform into the being she is destined to become.
Reunited is the heart-pounding conclusion to the Reawakened series. It is time for Lily to find her sunset.

And don't miss new adventures with Lily in the rest of the Reawakened series: Reawakened and Recreated!

Short review on the conclusion to the Reawakened trilogy:
If you think book 1 was fun but hated book 2, give Reunited a chance. You might like it.
If you hated both book 1 and book 2, don’t read this. This series is not for you.

After the disaster in book 2, I thought I would quit book 3 altogether. Yet, I’m so glad I kept reading because Reunited was so much better. The relationship issue was still there, but at least Lily had a good reason for being disloyal: she had lost all her memory of her adventure in Egypt. When the Gods called her for help, she could only rely on Tia and Ashleigh to navigate the strange realm of the Egyptian afterlife.

This book reminded me so much of book 1, when Lily was excited to explore the mysterious Egyptian world, but with more depth to each character. In this book, more secrets about the Gods and the Sons of Egypt were revealed. I love reading about the bonds among Lily and the girls, as well as Amon, Asten, and Ahmose. How they supported each other. How they forgave and understood one another. How far they would go to protect one another. As the six of them fought the battle against evil and sorted through their relationship problems, they were united to be a big family. Their power of union was so touching.

I also decided which boy I love the most in this book. Amon was either super noble or profoundly stupid, I can’t decide, but I admired his devotion. I liked him in book 1 but hated him in book 2. After reading him in Reunited, I love him all right.

My only complaint is that the ending was too rushed. After building up all the tensions, the ending seemed too convenient, too easy. I didn’t see it coming, so at least it was not predictable, but it was not a pleasant surprise either.

Also, I hate Wasret. I think that’s my own problem though.

Thoughts on the entire series: They were okay but I probably won’t reread them unless I’m dying out of boredom.

So, this series wasn’t too bad. Book 1, started with action and the dialogue, I felt, was contemporary and current. This instantly attracted me and sucked me into the world of Egyptian Mythology. It then ended in this huge romantically climaxed mess. Then the second book, I felt, punched me in the junk with repetitive romance as having our heroine, constantly second guess her feelings and actions, blah. The third book revived my love for this series and definitely peaked my interest with the constant use of the Egyptian Mythology even though it was intertwined with the romantic element. I have to say, I’m so glad that I painstaking progressed through to the end is the series. I give the entire series an 8/10. Even though I was intrigued with the mystical element, the names gave me a nose bleed in trying to differentiate the characters. Over all, I really really enjoyed it, but not loved it. ( )

Literary Merit: Satisfactory
Characterization: Weak
Recommended: For fans of the first two in this series; For fans of Egyptian mythology
Reading Level: Grades 9-12

Without reading the first two books in this trilogy, I felt lost through this entire long and winding 450 page read. Great reference to Egyptian mythology, especially when the topic is lacking in many library collections. However, I couldn't keep all of the males who's names started with an A (at least 4 of them I think) straight even though one or two were the main love interests. The main character had two other beings living inside her, sharing the body and taking turns in control, which didn't help my confusion. many characters and mythological references were included which would be ideal for followers of the series and Egyptian mythology but felt overwhelming to me. The whirlwind events were taken as legitimate reality without question by everyone they encountered despite what to me would have been abnormal events, like flying on unicorns to the underworld to reawaken dead mummies all to beat the ultimate villain with the anticlimactic name of Seth. I didn't buy into the world when it felt too fantastical and ungrounded in the physics and time constraints of reality. The plot was too long with too many seemingly pointless trails before the real action took place in the last 40 pages. Despite the long list of names, it was the overly dramatic narration and dialogue that kept me from connecting even with the characters. Good attempt at a fantastical trilogy but it missed the mark for me. ( )
