From Dark Gold: What Jimmi viewed, of course, was not a grain silo. A thin metal silo would have been smashed like an aluminum can under a boot. The huge copper dome of the capital building was infinitely stronger. When the tone buildings had crumpled against the fierce push of the mudflow, the dome itself had sheared off, riding the avalanche like an inverted bowl. Somewhere along it had tipped back over, bottom edges sinking into the mud at an angle. Rising fingers of sunlight showed it was probably possible to ride right under the upper rim and into its shadowed interior--provided he ever felt that crazy. A generous stump of Lady Liberty, the topmost statue, poke up at the sky at a 45-degree angle from the dome's pitted apex.
