Navy Seal widower with a couple little girls, matched with his best friend's little brother all grown up. I really enjoyed the crush Dylan had on Apollo growing up, and him actually getting to have a crack at him as an adult. It was feel good. I was a little impatient with Apollo for resisting quite as much as he did, refusing to move on from his loss except for here and there when his resolve broke temporarily, but ultimately I liked him enough to be quite happy for him once he did finally determine to move forward. It appeared in my Kindle (I'd pre-ordered). I started reading and kept reading and just finished this, having used a few Puffs tissues here & there, because sweetness makes me tear up, and grief sucks, and oh, the ending is really good. Ms. Albert is talented. Apollo's twins never feel less than full characters. The forces that bring Apollo and Dylan together and separate them are as often their own issues as outside forces, and the sexytimes are both funny and hot. And...now I want the next book. Lieutenant Apollo Floros will not readily admit he needs help. But being a father to his two girls after his husband's death has been a challenge. But his friend's younger brother needs a place to stay and it just might be a win-win situation all around. Until Apollo sees Dylan all grown up and finds he is not so sure it could work. After all, Dylan always had a crush of his own on Apollo and the combination of them living together could be a recipe for disaster. But the girls take to Dylan right away and Apollo really could use the help... When you put two headstrong and stubborn men who harbor an attraction for each other in the same house, it can be like sitting on a powder keg as sparks fall from the ceiling. And that is exactly what is packed into this story. But you can expect that when that powder keg does finally catch, there will be quite the explosion. There are those times when we stand in our own way and we just need someone to help us realize it in order to move forward. [This review is based on an advance review copy received from the publisher via NetGalley.] I found the age Gap in this one troubling. Not cause of the amount, but how they knew each other. 12 years might not throw me much generally. I think it's fairly common in romance, but they kept bringing up how they meet when the younger hero was 15. I would've been ok if it weren't for constant reminders. Other than that, it was fairly middle of the road. Looking forward to the next one though. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Lieutenant Apollo Floros can ace tactical training missions, but being a single dad to his twin daughters is more than he can handle. He needs live-in help, and he's lucky a friend's younger brother needs a place to stay. He's surprised to see Dylan all grown up with a college degree... and a college athlete's body. Apollo's widowed heart may still be broken, but Dylan has his blood heating up. It's been eight years since the teenage Dylan followed Apollo around like a lovesick puppy, and it's time he showed Lieutenant Hard-to-Please that he's all man now - an adult who's fully capable of choosing responsibility over lust. He can handle Apollo's muscular sex appeal, but Apollo the caring father? Dylan can't afford to fall for that guy. He's determined to hold out for someone who's able to love him back, not someone who only sees him as a kid brother. Apollo is shocked by the intensity of his attraction to Dylan. Maybe some no-strings summer fun will bring this former SEAL back to life. But the combination of scorching desire and warm affection is more than he'd expected, and the emotion between them scares him senseless. No fling lasts forever, and Apollo will need to decide what's more important - his past or his future - if he wants to keep Dylan in his life. There's this incredibly understanding and insightful and brave speech by Dylan near the end of the book where he tells Apollo he'll wait for him - it's worth the read for that. ( )
