Slightly confused as to how it all wrapped up ( ) Even if I hadn't previously read and enjoyed [a:Colleen Coble|33227|Colleen Coble|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1345565537p2/33227.jpg]'s work, the cover alone would have been enough to get me to read this. I LOVE lavender. I enjoyed The View from Rainshadow Bay but there are a few things preventing me from giving this more than 3 stars. The pacing was a bit slower than I would have liked - not much happens for a majority of the story and as for the characters, I wasn't a huge fan of Shauna. She's supposed to be ex-Navy but at times she reads more like a damsel in distress. I understand she's still grieving and having trouble making ends meet but there were a few instances where I felt she could have reacted better given her background. I liked Zach well enough but....I wasn't really feeling their romance - I appreciate that it was a bit of a slow-burn though. After all, Shauna did blame him for her husband's death which occurred only a year prior so I'm glad she harbored some animosity toward him for a while. The mystery/suspense was great though. As more deaths occur Shauna and Zach begin uncovering clues that lead them to believe that maybe Jack's death wasn't an accident. And that maybe, everything is connected. Looking forward to the next book in the Lavender Tides series! *ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

After her husband, Jack, dies in a climbing incident, Shauna has only her five-year-old son and her helicopter charter business to live for. Every day is a struggle to make ends meet and she lives in constant fear of losing even more than she already has. When her business partner is murdered, his final words convince Shauna that she's in danger too. But where can she turn? Zach Bannister was her husband's best friend and is the person she blames for his death. She's barely spoken to him since. But right now he seems her only hope for protecting her son. Zach is only too happy to assuage his guilt over Jack's death by helping Shauna any way he can. But there are secrets involved dating back to Shauna's childhood that more than one person would prefer to stay hidden. In The View from Rainshadow Bay, suspense, danger, and a longing to love again ignite amid the gorgeous lavender fields of Washington State. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
