This is a wonderful message regarding kindness. When a schoolmate spilled purple juice on her pretty dress,it was easier for the class to laugh, than to be kind. One girl knew the difference and remembered that her mother always told her to be kind.

This book goes beyond a platitude of being kind, it also defines kindness that can be shown in so many different ways. Kindness is in the small things, that mean a lot such as making cookies for an elderly man living alone, giving your too tight shoes to someone with smaller feet, putting dirty dishes in the sink and small acts of kindness like tell someone you like the color of their shoes, or listening to an Aunt's stories that you may have heard before.

The character in this book remembers that her mother told her to always search for ways to be kind. There are many small and large ways to be kind every day. Simply look around you and try to be kind. This sounds like a platitude, but it is oh so true for both young and old. ( )

Amazing book to teach children about being kind. This is a wonderful read for children ages 2-8.
Sweet and gentle message about ways you can choose kindness when things happen. It is helpful for children to see that small acts can be just as kind and appreciated as larger ones. This is a great read and message for all. ( )

Tanisha spills grape juice over her new dress and her classmate contemplates helping her. She goes through the options of what she can do to make her feel better or feel accepted. She stands up for her and learns about being thoughtful toward other students.

This book talks about what it means to be kind. Some ways kindness is talked about in this book is by helping, giving and paying attention to others. ages3-6

This book is about a new girl who has a hard time making friends. The main character wanted to try to be friends and made a drawing for her to which began their relationship. Throughout the book it demonstrates to children different ways to be kind to others. This book is great for children ages 3-6 years old. ( )
