Whilst there is some cross-over with Lesley Wilkins' beginner's book, this book concentrates mostly on blackwork samplers. A photo of the finished object is shown, followed by the page/s of patterns to copy. Simple and straightforward, which is just great for anyone learning this craft. ( )

I really love this book! It has beautiful work and has introduced me perfectly to blackwork. I have always loved to look at it, and took the plunge with his book.

It is not a how-to-do book, it just shows some patterns for you to do. I found it really easy and very enjoyable - Everyone kept commenting on my work, and it didn't take too long!
