THE ICE TWINS is one of the best books I have ever read and the second book Tremayne wrote, THE FIRE CHILD was also good. So. of course, I had to buy this book when it was released. I love S.K. Tremayne stories and this was not an exception. The setting, Dartmoor is perfect for a story likes this about a woman that learns that the car accident she was in may have been a suicide attempt. She's just can't remember it since she has amnesia. And why is her husband acting strange? What really happened that day? Great book, can't wait to read more the next book by Tremayne. ( ) This one is just as good as her previous novels, [The Ice Twins] and [Fire Child]. There are large amounts of suspense and plenty of strange dark and brooding twists. It’s deliciously creepy...so that makes it just my “cuppa tea”. Make sure you have plenty of time before you get to the last few chapters because you will not be able to put it down. Kath and Adam Redway live with their daughter Lyla on the moors of Dartmoor. Kath has had an accident and she can't remember much about it but needs to find out what happened. This book really had me gripped from the beginning. The story follows Kath as she tries to unravel what happened that night her car skidded on ice and she ended up in the water. Doing so she uncovers a lot more than she bargained for including things close to home. What I loved about this book was the descriptions of dartmoor. What with the old superstitions and refrences to witchcraft, it gave the story a dark and creepy feel. I was totally immensed in the story and the wild moors of Dartmoor. The descriptions were really well done. However what I didn't like was the ending. I didn't like the reason why Kath ended up in the water, it just didn't make sense to add that to the story. The person behind it all did was plausible, it just didn't seem right to add what he did. To explain more would give spoilers. The ending was very rushed and at times not done very well, which in turn let down a very compelling read. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
I survived the accident. Now the real nightmare begins... The chilling new psychological thriller by S. K. Tremayne, author of the Sunday Times No. 1 bestseller, THE ICE TWINS. How long can they keep you in the dark? It was just a patch of ice. But it was nearly enough to kill Kath Redway, spinning her car into Burrator Reservoir in the beautiful Dartmoor National Park. She is shocked but delighted to escape with a few bruises and amnesia. But her family is not so pleased. Her handsome husband is cold, even angry. Her gifted daughter talks ever more strangely, about a 'man on the moor'. Then, as chilling fragments of memory return, Kath realizes her 'accident' was nothing of the kind. And now her life collapses into a new world of darkness, menace, and terror. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
