I love her mix of scifi and romance. Her world-building is simply some of the best that I have ever seen. It's a big world with some pretty defined edges, but not so defined that she can't make changes or add new series or rules in. Really, just very well done books, altogether. Fighting for Their Mate is an admirable addition to the Interstellar Brides series. Chloe worked for the Coalition Intelligence department. When her stint was done, she was sent back to Earth, but it was like putting on a coat that no longer fit. She knew too much and had seen too much and Earth was just too small for her anymore. So she signed up for the IBP. Seth is a human whose sister is happily mated to an Atlan. She gave him the gift of testing for a mate. It had been a year, and he was pretty happy with that. He didn't want to have a mate and then end up leaving her alone if something happened. Dorian is a Prillon warrior. They always mate in pairs, so that their mate is never left alone without someone to protect her and their children. When Seth gets matched, he gets really upset. When Dorian talks to him and finds out his worry, he volunteers to be Seth's second, so that their mate and children would never be left alone. I loved this story. I loved the fact that Seth chose to go the way that he did. Chloe may be my new favorite woman in this whole universe, and that's saying something. She's really strong, she's really smart, and she fights really hard for the things that she knows are right. She's also madly in love with her mates and is more than happy to be with them. This book has some different aspects to most of the other IB books, but I think that it really enhances the book, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the next book plays out. Gehört zur ReiheInterstellar Brides (12)
Once a commander with the Intelligence Core for the Coalition Fleet, a mission gone wrong forced Chloe to return to Earth injured and dishonored. But she's seen too much and is restless in civilian life. This drives her to do whatever it takes to return to space, to where she belongs, so she volunteers as an Interstellar Bride. She's shocked to discover her mate is human, but he's like no one else she's ever met...and he's taken a second, a huge Prillon warrior equally determined to seduce her body and win her heart. ReCon Captain Seth Mills lost both of his brothers to the Hive and vows to continue fighting. His bride is an unwelcome shock and he agrees to the Prillon custom of taking a second to protect the innocent woman destined to be his. No matter how determined he is to resist her allure, one touch, one kiss, and he knows he can never let her go. Although she surrenders to their dominant touch, Chloe is no innocent. She's a commander with secrets she can't share. And when the entire Battlegroup is caught in a deadly Hive trap, she's the only one who can save them all, no matter the cost. But Chloe's mates won't let her go into battle alone. No matter the risk, they're willing to sacrifice everything...and fight for their mate. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

Even though these can be read out of order, I kind of wish I had them in order. Now I understand some of the references in other books. I started with the Beast series and moved to the The Colony and since have just been randomly been reading the other books in the series. One day I may go back and reread the entire series starting with book one.
I listened to this book and the two narrators are my favorite in this series. ( )
