Mostly because of the second book, where both Arden and Caspian pissed me off to no end. And, while reading it, I was equal parts engrossed in it, but also thinking omg enough with the melodramatic ominous statements and tell us what's your damage already. ffs.. But still... I practically read the last installment in one breath and I loved their HEA, so it must not have been that big of a deterrent to my enjoyment of it. It's so good! So worth the wait! I liked how Hall kept things moving but managed to resolve several plots, and I liked the end very much. Plus, there are still a few open-ended plot points so...maybe a novella? Some day? Or...another whole novel? Dare I hope? (
