While there were things I liked about this one, there was two things that took my enjoyment away by the boatload.
That's because this one is LOADED with repetition.
If the pirate ship had been loaded with all the repetition in this book it would have sunk.
Both MC's thoughts are repetitive. There is so much 'Head Talking' repetitive thoughts I wanted to slap them both to make the record STOP!
Over & over & over again.
Then there is Jess. Jess doing some of the dumbest things I have ever read in one of Lynsay Sands books. She is the personification of the person who gets killed off in all the horror movies. Jess, who wanders off by herself after swimming to safety. Jess who goes to her room 'By Herself' after seeing the pirates in the lobby of the hotel. Jess who goes 'BY HERSELF' to the embassy. She has left 'safety' more times than I can count. Continually makes bad choices.
I feel sorry for Raffaele. His mate is TSTL. He will have to put an alarm on her to keep her safe for eternity.
I liked the pirates. I liked Raffaele and his cousins.
Take out the repetitions and give Jess a brain. ( )

The Story:

Whew this one is a whirlwind of ‘rogue’ pirates, unstable family, multiple lifemates and misunderstandings. I was very confused about some characters the whole book but in the end everything is explained and I enjoyed the ride.

Jess is on holiday, attending a family destination wedding, and tasked with trying to keep her least favourite female cousin out of trouble. After taking a seaquarium trip, the cousin talks Jess into a 'shark feeding' expedition on board a pirate ship which turns out to be crewed by blood sucking vampirates. The greasy-haired, foul-mouthed Captain Vasco seems convinced that Jess is his 'life mate' and will stay with him forever. Escaping through a porthole, Jess swims in shark infested waters until being rescued by Raffaele, a scrummy man who also seems convinced that Jess is his 'life mate'. Learning that Raffaele is also an immortal turns her world upside down. Will Raffaele protect her until she can leave the country and escape Captain Vasco and his search for her, his liking of her jugs, groping in her river for trout, and desire to give her a good quiffing... Enjoyable as usual, but don't need the nanobot explanation. ( )
