In einem weiteren Handlungsstrang, lernen wir Estellas Enkelin kennen. Fabienne liebt ihre Großmutter sehr und soll das Modeimperium übernehmen. Als ihr Vater stirbt und dann auch noch eine Beziehung in die Brüche geht, wird sie von Estella kurzerhand nach Paris geschickt. Hier begegnet sie Will.
Der Schreibstil der Autorin Natasha Lester liest sich sehr schön flüssig. Ich bin gerne in diese Geschichte eingetaucht, die abwechselnd aus der Sicht von Estella und Fabienne erzählt wird. Dabei gibt es durchaus einen tragischen Hintergrund, den ich aber hier nicht verraten möchte.
Die Charaktere haben mir gut gefallen. Estella ist eine sympathische junge Frau, die Träume hat. Aber die Zeit ist schwierig und durch ihre Verbindung zur Resistance gerät sie in Gefahr. Jeanne sorgt dafür, dass Estella auf ein Schiff nach New York kommt. Dort lernt sie den reichen Sam kennen. Estella macht sich aber immer Sorgen um ihre Mutter.
Es ist eine Geschichte, die sich um Mode und die Liebe dreht, wobei das Schicksal Es der Liebe schwer macht. Aber es gibt auch Geheimnisse, die erst so nach und nach aufgedeckt werden. Es ist also unterhaltsam und spannend. Lesenswert! ( )
